Getting over a Breakup

So you just ended your long-term relationship. At first it will be awkward having to come home and not call your ex but the truth is you broke up for a reason and if you stayed in that relationship, would it have really gotten that much better? can you see yourself with that person for the next several years or even fathom the idea of marrying that person?

Breaking up sucks but there are several positive spins to it. First you no longer have to feel guilty for walking in the mall and checking out that attractive person walking by. You know the person your ex found jealously ugly but deep inside they knew that person was attractive all along. Second, reconnect with your old friends who you haven’t seen or heard from in a long time, you seldom get to do this when you are “tied down”. Third, rebuild that excitement of who the next person will be that will catch your interest. Is it the waitress at the coffee shop, somebody from school or just somebody you bump into the mall – literally. You never know and that excitement of who’s next always puts a positive spin to any breakup. Enjoy your freedom and take every opportunity to exploit it. The world is enormous and you never know who will steal your heart. Sometimes the search itself is one of life’s best adventure. Take the time to enjoy it!
