The Employment Sector that Continues to Grow amid a Declining Workforce

The US workforce is among one of the most difficult economic times and finding the motivation to continue to work and live in a world of employment uncertainty is becoming a challenge for most Americans. National real estate prices are hitting record lows with a whopping 9% unemployment rate. World economic crisis such as that in Greece are impacting the economy in so many ways and some feel the world is just crumbling around them. However the technology sector or “tech sec” as we like to call it is feeling the opposite pain.

A recent survey done from Robert Half Management forecasts the technology sectors to see a 6% increase in the fourth quarter of 2011 with the largest job opportunities for software engineers according to some of the nation’s leading technology firms (for those in high school right now take a hint). It’s true a surging demand in the online space has created more roles for the “techy” folks and thanks to them other sectors are seeing some light as well. Given the influx of mobile app development and security selling these services will be in the hands of marketing and sales experts, another area expected to blossom over the next year.

Is this a difficult time for us? Absolutely but the brighter side of the equation is we are seeing positive growth in job markets and expected growth in others. This is also a great time for those who area seasoned veterans that are unemployed or individuals looking to switch professions to brush up your skill set and join the coming work wave. It’s a difficult time but there is light at the end of the tunnel and bright times are up ahead. Think positive and make it happen!
